So I have had too people mention to me before and after Nik Cee mentioned it again and sent me the poster, I figured it was time to get off my ass and write about the "Hey Fixie" rides occurring at Science World on Wednesday at 7pm (see the calendar or click on the poster).

The "Hey Fixie" ride apparently stems from what has been happening on the streets, as one fixie rider yells to another to hook up to ride and learn some new skills.

I had a pretty interesting Friday, running myself thin around work, pretending to be a vacationing coworker as well as myself. Thankfully my boss cancelled a meeting at the end of the day, and I was able to leave a little early.

I hopped on my bike and sprinted across the production floor and out the loading bay doors.

Fixie + Quick Release = Death

Okay, for all you neofixie hipsters out there, I am only going to say this once so listen up. DO NOT under any circumstances put a quick release on the rear when you have to hold the chain tension. Are you listening? Ah! You are thinking about doing that again...

I spotted the monstrosity, pictured left, on Friday night after I was leaving the Anza club. I was drunk, but I knew duty called so I got my shit together long enough to document this madness.

The whole thing almost brought me to tears, I cried for weeks afterwards.
