Revision of Register an account from January 28, 2007 - 6:37pm
Welcome to fearlessgearless (FG). Here is a very basic explanation of how you to can play!
Step 1: Get Firefox
I suggest you use the FireFox browser. FG is run by drupal, an open source project. Most open source software works best with it. Since FG is run by Drupal, an open source program it is guaranteed to work with Firefox. Internet explorer and safari users beware, most if not all functions may work but I there are no guarentees.
Step 2: Create an account
First you need to REGISTER, enter a user name you will remember and your email. Shortly, afterwards you will be emailed your password. It will look wierd. Its okay, its a random assortment of characteristics. Afterwards we will change it. Giddy up!
Step 3: Login
Look for the user login box. Its pretty obvious:
User Login Box: Look for this field when you want to log in
Step 4: Change your password
The password you were emailed sucks... if you want to change it then click follow theses steps
- Login
- The navigation menu will have changed. Click on "My Account"
- Click on the "edit" tab
- To change your password fill in the two password fields:
- If you have major problems email.
Step 5: Specify more profile info
If you notice you are now given two editing options "account settings" and "personal information
![]()
Account Settings
- A profile picture, or what the geeks call an Avatar. [Optional]
- Your flickr account, so your images can be displayed within the site [Optional]
- Enable people to contact you through a contact form (discourages spam, which is the danger of giving your email directly).
Personal Information
Just some quick some stuff about you (all optional), including
- A description or bio
- What you ride
- Your website, if you have one
Step 4: Posting
Now that you have an account and readers can find out a bit about you its time to write! By default when you register you are now able to leave comments, events and write a story or two. The stories appear on the front page, but they are not a blog. If you wish to have your own blog on FG well ask and you will be bumped up to an "author." If you are real keen you can even become an editor. It has been tiered to prevent abuse.
