Burnaby Velodrome AGM

Just a reminder that this years AGM has changed locations. The AGM will be hosted on September 4 at 7:30 pm at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West 3677 Kensington Ave. Burnaby and NOT at the 8 Rinks Arena as has been common practice the last couple of years.

Wednesday Night Series
Submitted by Wease on December 5, 2006 - 9:51amAs part of the ongoing wednesday night series at the Burnaby velodrome we have:
- B: Flying 200m
- A: Scratch 40
- B: Elim to Scratch 10
- A: Chariot Race
- B: Point a Lap
The A and B refer to the A and B rider groupings. There may also be C races.
LTR #3: Developing Agility / Individual Skills (1.5 hrs)

LTR is a three session program that provides cyclists with an introduction to track cycling and teaches the basic skills of handling a fixed gear track bike, entering and exiting the track, velodrome ettiquette, riding pacelines, and introduces basic race-oriented topics.
Prerequisites LTR 1 & 2
Cost: $30 [Sign Up]
Licensing
In addition to the fee of the clinic you need to be insured.
LTR #2: Basic Group Riding (1.5 hrs)

Madison Training

To prticipate you need to have all the LTR's and the LTRace under your belt. At first I was hesitant to come out, but Claire said everyone in our group was good to go. So who's with me?
Winner Takes-All Madison
Submitted by Wease on November 7, 2006 - 6:52pmA Winner Take-All Madison at the Burnaby Velodrome Challenge
On Friday, November 10th, the Burnaby Velodrome will host an Open Madison with a minimum of a $400 prize purse. The winning team takes home the entire purse.
The track opens at 3pm, with the Madison scheduled for 8pm.
Space is available for 10 teams.
This Madison is being held as part of a larger race weekend, the Burnaby Velodrome Challenge #1, with racing continuing through Sunday. More details a www.burnabyvelodrome.ca.

In addition to the fee of the clinic you need to be insured. This is $26 for the year at the velodrome.
Learn to Race: An Intro to Competition

LT Race is a program that provides cyclists with an introduction to track racing and teaches the basics of competition on a fixed gear bicycle. Mass start events as well as individual events are covered. Riders are taught attacking, advanced handling, and other skills. Learn to Race requires that riders are competent track cyclists and have graduated from the Learn to Ride program or have approval from the Program Director.
