Royal City Show and Shine Poster

The Royal City Show and Shine is probably the biggest classic car
show in Metro Vancouver! How does this relate to bikes? Well this year
they've got a classic bicycle category!

For the show Columbia street gets completely closed down, top to
bottom. We've arranged with the show to have a bike area up by Brooklyn
Pub at the top of the street. Bike judging will happen just after 3PM
so if you want a chance to win a trophy for BEST BIKE IN SHOW then make
sure you're there by then! Naturally bikes older than 1970's are
preferred as it goes with the theme of the show...

We're going to be meeting up at around noon at Patterson SkyTrain
Station - you can bring bikes on the train so it's easy to get there.
We'll roll out of there around 12:30 or so and ride down to New West
along the 7-11 trail (all down hill!) There will be a few stops on the
way for sure, so we should get down to the show around 2:30 or so. Head
on up to Brooklyn Pub, park the bikes out front and get some
"refreshments"!

Once the show is done (around 5PM or so) we're riding back in to
Vancouver along the new Central Valley Greenway - it's a terrific ride,
totally flat and takes you right back to Science World in Vancouver. Or
if you're not feeling up to it you can always hop back on the SkyTrain
at Columbia Station and chair-lift yourself out!
