You'll always remember your first...

Building one of these machines has been a long term goal of mine for a some time now.

And then Wease lent me christine. It took all of about two weeks for the urge to own my own to overpower me, and when I saw this Steve Bauer frame on craigslist (I've coveted them ever since I saw Momentum Amy's bike) I knew that the time was right and that I had to jump at it. Once I'd committed to picking up the frame, gathering all of the components proved to be surprisingly easy... Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and to those (Jeff & Cowboy Wyatt especially) who gave me some great deals on some of the crucial parts on this sweet ride.

The ratio is currently too low for me (42:17), but patience is not one of my virtues and I wanted to ride the dammned thing really bad so I used what I had on hand.

I was planning on bringin' him out to Hey Fixie tonight, but it turns out I had my schedule wrong and I'm working at 6 tonight. Alas - you'll all see it soon enough I'm sure.

Oh, and Wease - thanks again so much for lending me Christine. I think she was a huge part of me getting this project done, and in such record time too. She's yours whenever you want her again, and I'll start working on a post about my experience riding her!

Thats quite the .. umm.. BIG stem you've got there.
