Man time flies. Almost a year has gone by and I barely notice. In that time I totally neglected FG and apparently in that time spam bots had run rampant. I know this because I just deleted 1400 fictitious users, all with 50 million porn links within their user description (if I accidentally deleted your account, opps!). What a task let me tell you... I had to visit each and every porn site to see if it was legit (that node is for you Big Jonny - drunkcyclist.com).
Why would I do this? Cause I am back baby... back in black!
I think I needed a break from FG, since I had been going strong since 2003. I'm old school, I date back to when the word "blog" was only known by uber geeks and google hadn't bought out blogger yet. Now that's going way back. I always planned on updating FG again. But what really gave me a kick in the pants was racing micro-cross race (a cyclocross race no 20 inch BMX's) and a request to see my photos from the Ride – Art – Drink (RAD) show of a couple weekends ago.
Anyway, I just finished upgrading FG to the newest baddest form of drupal, upgraded the gallery and fixed a lot of shit and I mean a lot. And if there are geeks out there I had to do crazy things like update the database schema by hand.
So as always the question remains... where the hell was I?
Living in a van down by the river...
No I wasn't, but I had gotten pretty busy with a local cycling magazine (Momentum), designing a drupal website to publish their magazine. In that time I have learned a lot and will be using
Oh yeah, in my spare time I race elite cyclocross and was even provincially ranked in the top ten for a while.
Which gets me to my next plan... SSWC 08 - its in california and I plan to be there, racing on a SS cross bike. How dat suit your fancy?
Future Vision?
So what's in story. Well let me just say, its all mine again. When I started it was my blog while I was racing Single Speed Mountain bikes. Then somewhere around 2006 I got the bright idea that I was going to expand it into a community... you know what that shit is a lot of work and quite frankly people suck. So FG is once again the voice of Wease, and perhaps a select few who ask nice (beer bribe please!)
Things to look out for...
- A proper bike porn gallery. The first iteration was a nightmare. This one won't be
- BIke reviews - I wrote them for the mag, censored, now its time to reveal the real dirt
- As always photos and a few stories
