LTR #2 - The Grudge Match

So, the LTR #2 was mucho fun again. No photos this time... hrrmm. I had brought my little video camera to take some footage, but I never got around to actually doing it. Some days I am totally lazy. But in all honesty I don't know how interesting it would have been because we were doing pace lines so it would have been mucho ass filling the screen.

Anyway, again the city fixed crew were smoking up the scene. Everyone quickly got the hang of riding close in pace lines (wait till you are bumping elbows in a sprint... hold your line!) with a couple minor crashes. I think the most interesting was meikati who had a decently thunderous crash but jumped up and without missing a beat said:

"I'm fine, I didn't fall too far. I have had much worse."

That's the attitude! I don't remember if that is exactly what she said, but its close enough.

The Grudge Match

Right now there is an interesting grudge match developing between Skylar and Deltaentropy (aka Adam). Each claims he is faster than the other, and by the end of the day there were burning up the track trying to out sprint one another. It was quite entertaining to watch (note: they tried to drag Nikcee into their fray, but he wouldn't have any of it.)

As it stands, for the moment they are only going for glory. Which is a shame because the really interesting racing happens when you start putting some big prizes on the line. Like what? Nothing sissy like a case of beer, or some bike parts. Nope, you need something that is truly big stakes.

Something like the loser having to be the slave of the winner for a couple days. Dress him up how you like, drag him around to all the fix parties. "Track Wench bring me my beer," I can hear the winner say.

Grudge Match: Part II?

For LTR #3 or final the Learn to Race clinic we may just have the venue for you guys to really go at it. I am thinking of a pursuit. Where each of you starts on either side of the track and race until someone catches the other. Its a standing start race and it is full of strategy. Only 100m separates the two riders. If you sprint too hard at the start and you don't catch your opponent then he slowly and humiliatingly reels you in. If you go to slow off the start it is over before you know it.

Its quite exciting... so what do you say? Do we have a "Grudge Match, Part II?"

i'll be only to happy to cheer/heckle/watch this happen... i'm also sure that clair and geoff will be pretty happy to see this happen. especially if it goes down as a pursuit... (safety first!)

But I'm game to race against Skylar. That was the most fun Ive had in weeks. What would I have Skylar do if he was my servant? I'd make him ride tempo for 3 straight hours, not let him rev it up or slow down for even one second. That'd be torture for him.

the taste of victory on your lips has soured your tongue but, it will yet sour your mood
if they give us the time then the aforementioned challenge is good enough for me

and as for riding tempo... my god man the evil and cunning behind that plan is, is ... i cant bear it any longer
as for you mine is quite simple; take one bike (your choice) add one trailler to it a giant lazy boy secured to it as a chariot of glory, for maybe the same amount of time, do we have a wager?

As they say... he he he

I do believe if you back down deltaentropy then you are forfeiting and master o disaster wins by default since he has thrown the gauntlet down.

Let track wars begin...

I'm game. Lets just make sure our bikes have the same gearing, I think the yellow bikes are lower. Even if I lose, at least we'll have the track to ourselves for a few minutes.
