So FG is nicely evolving, but there are still some bugs to work out. I appreciate your patience. Here I cover:

1. Annoying issues that may be bugging you and
2. logic behind the layout redesign and
3. UPLOADING images of your bike!!!!

1) Groups + Email

FG has a group feature so you can read shit that interests you and connect to ppl with similar interests. I am still working out the cockroaches so I would like to say:

1. Sorry! to those who received copious emails, from their group (a few not everyone received like 26 emails- YIKES!). As a default setting, I forgot to change when I first started groups, some of you had email notification turned on when you signed up. I switched this to OFF for new subscriptions and changed everyones subscription off
2. To manage your subscriptions, log in, go to your group, click on "my subscription" (left bar). You can unsubscribe and turn email notification on or off.
3. Or change your global group settings under your profile. Log in, go to "my account" - Right side bar. This will display your user profile. Click the "edit" tab, then scroll down to "Organic Groups" Here you can change your global settings so that you NEVER EVER receive an email from ANY group, no matter what!

Ahhh... everyone's inbox breaths a sigh of relief.

2)Understanding the Site layout

2.1) Left Side Bar:

The side bar on the left (visually distinct) is the global navigation and presents site wide information that remains relatively static.

2.2) + 2.3) Center and to the Right

No political overtones here, just the real shizit you came for. Here we have content is of interested and associated meta data. In the right area we have in order from left to right:

1. Center Content Column: The center column has what cookin. Its why uz are here.
2. Right column: Less visually distinct, here context sensitive information about the center column data is. For example:
   • details about a group, when you are viewing a group will be presented right.
   • Photo gallery actions and navigation is presented in the right side bar when you view the Photo gallery.
   • Author information is presented here when you view an article.

3) Images and Image galleries

I know everyone wants to upload pics of their bike and the functionality is there, I am just working out the details.I will eventually write up some tutorials with pictures. Until then if you are anxious to play and reasonably tech savy. Follow the instructions below:

Quick post with a pic of your bike

Right now make a forum topic or a story by going to the Left Side bar -> create content. The best is probably a fa forum topic. Choose the "Bike Porn" forum to stick it in. Fill out the "Body" with info on your steed. Then just below the body box will be "Attach Images". Click "choose file" and select your bike photo. For now it must be under 2 MB.

Your Own Photo Gallery

In addition to this you can have your own photo gallery (1 GB max storage). Log in, then go to /photos, click on "Your Album" link. This will initialize your album. Then you will see a screen shot like below. Click on "Add photo" and use the built in form to upload multiple images.

1. How to upload from iPhoto - Its actually super easy to set up
2. Make your own sub-albums
4. Submit some of your images to the common pool, like the Events Vancouver pool I have been keeping
5. How to insert these images into your own posts, comments, forums, you name it!
