The last week or so has been wonderful weather down here. We've had maxima just below 20C, and misting rain that comes and goes. Not enough to make you cold, just enough to keep the streets slippery. It's one of my favourite times of year. Partly because I can ride comfortably (body temperature, bah) and partly because more people drive.
Yes, I like it when more people drive.
Yes, there are more morons on the road.
But I really love that heavy gridlock that happens around peak hour, especially in the evenings. I finish work at 5:30, and having spent all day dealing with morons in cars I get a chance to get my own back. So after work, King Arfa and I will often head off and scream around the city doing crazy stuff among the parked or slow-moving cars. It's much fun, especially on something as lively and quick as a track bike. There's nothing like bruising both hips squeezing through gaps where you don't fit.
I'm going to give up the courier work soon, it's causing me too much grief with injuries to my knees, hip, arms, shoulders, back, neck and so on... but I'm still gonna be screaming around town like a mad bastard come peak hour!
